B.L.O.W M.E.
B- Bouquet out of water.
- Let your bouquet stems dry before the ceremony so you don't get your dress wet
- and Buds out for photos (point your bouquet outward for a slightly fuller look when standing in front of the camera)
L- Lady garden:
- Hold your bouquet low.
- A lot of times our nerves can get the best of us and we'll naturally hold a bouquet in front of our heart (isn't it cool how the body wants to protect our precious organs when we're stressed?!) but remember that you are in a room of everyone who loves you and wants good things for you. You are safe and can lower your bouquet.
O- One hour: be ready one hour before ceremony.
- This is meant to give you time to take a breath
- It is also meant to add some cushion for when things go wrong (because they will)
W- Wrists and Ankles: Check for unwanted hair scrunchies and watches!
- Take these off the morning you start getting ready so you don't have any unwanted lines on your skin
M- Move your Engagement Ring to the other hand!
- Why? So the wedding band is placed closest to your heart and your engagement ring will go back on top during the ceremony
E- Energy: it starts in the ready room, set the tone for the day!
- Designate someone to build a party-and-prep playlist for that morning. Set the tone for the day and get the good vibes rolling!
Unplugged ceremony
Don't be afraid to specify in multiple places that you are having an unplugged ceremony.
It can be difficult to get the best shot and also to edit out phones in your pictures, so make sure your guests know that you hired an awesome person to handle the photos for them.
Have a "Stuff Corner"
The getting-ready suites can get messy, but when its time for photos make sure you have a designated "stuff corner" where everyone can put their belongings, this way you can still have gorgeous photos!
Details, Details, Details
You've put a lot of thought into the little things, so have a few ready for your photographer the morning of the wedding. Details can include:
- Invitation
- Shoes
- Something borrowed/something blue
- Garter
- Rings
- Tie/Bowtie
- Suspenders
- Cuff links
- Buttons/Lace
Last but not least, don’t worry what other people are doing for their wedding and whether yours is normal or not.
If you want to do it, do it. If you don’t, then don’t. This day is where you and your new permanent buddy get to design something completely amazing and be surrounded by all the people who love you. Make it special, and make it yours.
